Transitioning Back to Toronto

Greetings CHCA Community,

We wanted to share an exciting update about our family. As part of our commitment to supporting our boys in their educational and personal growth, we have made the decision to transition back to Toronto for the next few years. This move will allow us to settle them into their academic and career paths while staying closely connected to their dreams and aspirations.

  • Joseph (18): Joseph has embarked on a new chapter, starting college to study Business Administration with a focus on Finance. We are proud of his drive and determination as he works toward his future goals.

  • Micaias (16): Micaias is entering his final year of high school and is passionately pursuing his dream of playing in the NBA while also preparing to study Graphic Design. His dedication to both basketball and creativity continues to inspire us.

  • Jeremiah (15): Jeremiah is excited to start Grade 10 and can’t wait to play basketball on his high school team. He looks up to his older brother and shares a vision of joining him in a professional (NBA) basketball career one day.

Our plan is to remain in Toronto for approximately three years to ensure the boys are well-settled and have the support they need during this pivotal time. During this time, we will continue to work for CHCA, although in a different capacity. This includes handling monthly financial reporting, collaborating closely with the board, overseeing the groundwork in the Dominican, contributing to the fundraising committee, and supporting other initiatives as needed.

After this transition period, we look forward to returning to the Dominican Republic and continuing our work with CHCA on the ground. While this is a temporary move, our hearts remain deeply connected to the CHCA community, and we are grateful for your ongoing prayers and encouragement.

Thank you for journeying with us as we navigate this new chapter for our family. We look forward to sharing updates along the way!

With gratitude,
Kenisha
